Mr Beans Holiday Trailer Analysis:
Mise En Scene: The film is set in France with a summery, summery sort of background with lots of emphasis and reference to the beach, it also has scenes towards the end where they are on a film set and Mr bean is trying to give the child he befriended back to his father, however misunderstandings occur and Bean is found having to knock guards out, the scenery is very pleasant in the movie and gives a sense of escapism as we the audience want to escape from our ordinary lives to have fun and play at the beach. the film also includes reference to different languages and cultures, such as bean is mistaken for being Russian at first, as well as the little boy he befriends even speaking Russian phrases throughout to bean to play along with his ruse. generally the scenery is well done, and very beautiful, with several elements throughout,
Camera Composition/angles: Within the Movie there are several low angle shots, and high angle shots, among others to name, for example when bean is in the airport terminal near the beginning, it is shown a close angle shot of bean's face, in which he makes a grotesque facial expression, at the camera, this is hilarious to the audience, as bean is considered to be not the brightest guy. Another shot is when bean, the woman and the little boy he befriends are overlooking Cannes, the shot is a far angle shot of the entire city, and is a breathtaking view for the audience as it shows the real beauty of the country. another camera shot/angle is when bean is getting in a car with his female companion and there is a over the shoulder shot between him and her facial expressions, which shows her misunderstanding of bean's home language, making this a funny scene of the conversation between the both of them,
Sound: The sound within the movie has diegetic sound mainly and has beach music in accordance with the film, it has bean making unorthodox sounds as usual such as weird grunts and voices which rowan atkinson voices, he also says oui oui, as a funny dialect. The movie is mainly aimed at kids therefore most of the sound in the movie has a relaxing, chilling aura to it to increase the amount of influence at kids.
What we find out about the plot: within the movie there are several plot twists and potholes, all of which make the movie much more intricate and humorous to watch, when bean is first mixed up at the train station, he befriends a boy who afterwards is found to be the son of a famous director, funnily enough the boy is reported as being missing afterwards, and so bean is looked as a criminal, this makes the audience laugh, as bean is a comical character and for him to be looked at as a dangerous criminal is hugely ironic. we also see bean dancing in one of the scenes, as quite a well known scene, this scene is funny for the audience because it portrays bean as what he is- the hugely funny man who always gets himself intro trouble. we also find out how bean also helps a woman along the way, to have a much bigger part in her film, in this sense he almost has romantic interest within her, at the end of the movie all the cast come together and sing la mer down at the beach, which bean had wanted all along-to hang at the beach.
