The Incredible Hulk Trailer Analysis:
Mise En Scene: In the movie we see that it is set in Chicago, los Angeles, within the first scenes of the movie it dictates a science-fiction sort of atmosphere and background, for example we see the interaction between Bruce banner and his scientist colleagues, as well as the lab in which he regularly works at, we also see a cameo of famed- body-builder and actor Lou feriggno, as well as Stan lee with him. we also see that the main protagonist Eric bana has problems with relationships, as one of his colleagues, Betty Ross, used to be involved with him, however due to complications had to break off the relationship, we see many events take place in the movie which are shown throughout, for example when ruthless ex-soldier major glen Talbot, offers banner, and Ross a chance to work in their organisation for self -healing soldiers, however they refuse, and leads to a number of events and rivalry between Talbot and banner.
In the movie the scenery and props are arranged well, and we see scenes such as helicopters and planes-shooting missiles at the hulk to capture him. generally most of the action we saw was computer-animated however some of it was real, most of it was very effective and the target audience liked it.
Camera shots/composition: Within the movie we see various camera shots and angles, both of the hulk and different points of view. for example in the movie it focuses mainly on portraying the hulks anger, as that is mainly what the green behemoth is about, so we see many close-up shots of the different transformations within the movie, for example when hulk first transforms, in the lab we see him confront his father for the first time. We see a close-up of hulks facial expression, he at first looks calm/sad to see his father, but then his expression quickly turns to rage, and he crumples the building rooftop and jumps a mile away. Another camera angle shot we see is the hulk and his jumps from one place to another, we see a -birds-eye view shot, of him jumping from the red cliff to another cliff, this is done very effectively as we imagine that we are the hulk jumping from one place to another, it provides quite a exhilarating experience, and creates a beautiful escapism atmosphere.
Sound: The sound within the movie hulk was mainly diegetic, for example the various artillery noises within the movie, like the tank scene firing missiles and heavy gun fire at the hulk, we see mainly hostile noises in the movie as everyone wants to kill the hulk or just plain imprison him. the sound was very well done and effective, and i feel the movie as a whole is interesting.
What we find out about the plot: we find out about the plot that we see the journey of Bruce banner, his relationships and interactions with the people around him, he has generally a good job, good life, however all of that is changed when a freak gamma incident takes place in his lab, by a colleague of his called harper. This turns Bruce banner into the hulk and whenever he experiences intense emotions such as anger/sadness he turns into the hulk. This makes the military want him as they see him as too dangerous to be kept alive, so he must move, his relationship with Betty and people is tested to the limit and in the end he makes the ultimate sacrifice, for the greater good of the planet.
Editing: The editing in the movie is not that clear. It is evident that there definitely is editing within the movie such as when hulk moves at speed next to the helicopters, the camera quickly switches to his hand and then other angles, however in other scenes it is harder to place down, if there is editing done at all.
